Our certified tender beef is identified, not modified.
We identify genetic markers to determine, with 99% accuracy, the tenderness of beef.
1. Genetic markers enable Tenet™ Beef to identity 3 different levels of beef tenderness.
2. Tenderness is an inherited trait and can be bred into a herd by testing, identifying and selecting Tenet™ animals.
3. We understand many producers currently are not using 840 RFID premises tags. We are excited to offer Tenet™ certification to producers whether RFID is part of your management or not.
Tenet™-certified beef is rare and represents the highest level of naturally occurring beef tenderness. Tenet™ beef has superior tenderness.
Mid-Ten™-certified beef is the first guaranteed-tender beef certification. A Mid-Ten herd is significantly more tender than average U.S. beef.
"Tenderness is the largest issue in American beef according to industry professionals, researchers, food science experts and most importantly the consumers."
-Frank Hendrix, President, Tenet Beef
Fat and beef tenderness is not correlated. With traditional beef grading, the higher the fat content/marbling, the higher the quality rating. Tenet™ Beef is changing the industry by removing fat from the equation. Our markers identify total muscle tenderness of each animal tested.
